Key Benefits:

  • Quick redesign of critical areas
  • Validation of the assembly under specific conditions
  • Verification of bolt loads and joints stresses

This project is a sequential multi-physics analysis involving CFD and FEA. The goal of the project was to verify the structural integrity of the solar lamp post assembly under winds of 160 km/h.

The project started with steady state CFD analyses that were performed in several directions to obtain the maximum (worst case) surface pressures on the lamp assembly. Using the pressure results, a static analysis was then realized to calculate the displacements, stresses and bolts loads on the assembly.

These analyses were performed using the 3DEXPERIENCE platform on the cloud, allowed to redesign some critical areas and make sure the product was able to sustain high winds without problems.
